Toronto pair arrested after Thursday shooting

Police have two men in custody after a shooting Thursday afternoon in the west end.

Just after 4:40 p.m., police were called to Dundas St. W. and Sterling Rd. — just west of Lansdowne Ave. — after callers said two men were seeing opening fire on a vehicle.

The gunmen were last seen running north on Sterling.

Police eventually located and arrested the two men, recovering three handguns and a quantity of ammunition.

Thirty-two year old Mario Francis and David Williams, 19 — both of Toronto — face a number of charges, including firearms and failure to comply with probation orders.

Both made their first court appearance Friday morning.
