A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in North York — the city’s first murder of 2022.
Toronto Police said Thursday night the warrant is out for Shawn Powers, 35, of Toronto, who is wanted for second-degree murder.
Powers is considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.
Cops were called to a shooting in the Weston Rd.-Hwy. 401 area of North York on Sunday where a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim, 37-year-old Ariyo Fakomi, of Toronto, is well-known to police and has a lengthy rap sheet as a suspected Rexdale gang member.
