A GoFundMe campaign launched by Ontario Families Coalition head Bronwen Alsop was nearly a third of its way to a $30,000 goal as of Tuesday afternoon.

Alsop’s group was behind a demonstration at Queen’s Park on Monday, holding signs and marching outside of the Ontario legislature as Premier Doug Ford announced classrooms would close and students once again would return to online learning for at least two weeks — less than a week after the province moved the first day of school back one day to Jan. 5 .

“We refuse to have any more school closures throughout this pandemic,” Alsop told the Sun on Monday.

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

“It has taken tremendous trauma on our children’s mental health.”
