Her son, whose age was not released, had only minor injuries
A California woman has been killed by her four dogs in her own backyard.
Fox 11 is reporting the woman, believed to be in her 20s, was killed late Tuesday afternoon in the unincorporated East Valinda area of the San Gabriel Valley.
Police say the woman was in her backyard with her son when they were both attacked. According to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the woman had forgotten her key and no one was inside the home.
The mother and son were taken to hospital, where the woman died from major injuries to her head and arm.
The son, whose age was not released, had only minor injuries.
The breed of the dogs, which were taken into custody by animal control officers, was not immediately known.
The American Veterinary Medical Association says 4.5 million people are bitten by a dog each year.
