Woman killed in Scarborough rollover, man stabbed at Yonge-Dundas

A 65-year-old woman was killed after her vehicle rolled over in Scarborough on Wednesday afternoon.

Toronto Police say the deadly crash occurred near McCowan Rd. and Alton Towers Circle — south of Steeles Ave. E. — just before 2 p.m.

The woman was driving a black 2009 Honda CRV northbound on McCowan when she veered right, striking a concrete wall on the east side, cops say.

She was rushed to hospital, where she died.

Elsewhere, a man in his 40s was found critically injured in the Yonge Dundas Square area on Wednesday evening.

Toronto Police were called at about 5:40 p.m. for a stabbing and found a man suffering from a stab wound.

There was no word on suspects.

In a separate incident, police responded at about 4:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the area of Progress Ave. and Markham Rd. in Scarborough.

Police said a man in his 30s was found with a gunshot wound and was transported to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
