Suspect sought in Toronto ATM arsons

Toronto Police are asking for help to track down a fire bug targeting bank machines.

Investigators have launched a probe into two arsons three months apart. The first occurred on Aug. 2 at 1:10 p.m. in the Wilson Ave. and Jane St. area where a man set fire to an automatic teller machine.

Then, on Nov. 5 at 8:30 p.m., police were called to a fire at another ATM in the area of Leslie St. and York Mills Rd.

Both fires caused significant damage to the bank machines.

Police have released images of the suspect, who is described as 5-foot-5, 60 to 60 years of age, with a balding or shaved head and a stocky build.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
