Toronto man, 35, accused of human trafficking

A 35-year-old Toronto man faces a slew of charges stemming from a human trafficking investigation.

Toronto Police claim a 30-year-old woman was sex trafficked through deception and coercion in the Toronto area over a two-month period.

All the money she earned was allegedly turned over to another party.

Officers executed a search warrant at a Toronto apartment and a quantity of illegal drugs and a firearm were allegedly seized.

Everoy Swaby, 35, of Toronto, was arrested Nov. 18 and charged with trafficking in persons by exercising control, financial or material benefit person over 18, material benefit from sexual services, advertising another person’s sexual services, two counts of assault, assault by choking, as well as drug, firearm and other offences.

Police are concerned about the possibility of other potential victims.
