Man, 23, faces first-degree murder charge in Scarborough shooting

A 23-year-old Toronto man has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 25-year-old in Scarborough last Friday.

The victim, Malcolm Ellis, was found by Toronto Police suffering from fatal injuries in the driveway of a home on Blacktoft Dr. — near Sheppard Ave. E. and Meadowvale Rd. — around 2 a.m.

This was the city’s 78th homicide of the year.

On Wednesday, police said Jovane Watson surrendered to police and was charged.
