“I rubbed my eyes and thought we won $21,000, but there were too many numbers”
Three buddies in the Greater Toronto Area are $21,185,218.10 richer after winning big in the lottery.
After playing together since 2005, Kenneth Nitsotolis, of Markham, and Bill Tepelenas and Dino Martino, both of Toronto, won the jackpot of the Sept. 22 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Nitsotolis told the OLG he checked his email one morning to discover the big surprise.
“I opened the email and confetti appeared on the screen! I rubbed my eyes and thought we won $21,000, but there were too many numbers,” he said.
Nitsotolis then FaceTimed his friends to tell them they had won.
“I had to send them a photo of the win and then they slowly started to believe it,” he said.
None of the friends have made any decisions yet about what to do with the money.
