Hamilton Police believe the victim was “targeted.”

Cops were called to the Old Guelph Rd.-York Rd. area, a rural area not far from Clappisons Corners, shortly after 9:30 a.m. after receiving several 911 calls in relation to an active shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found one male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital, treated and released.

Cops found two males attempting to flee the area on foot and both were arrested.

In a news release issued Thursday night, police said the victim and the men who were charged knew each other. They described the shooting as a targeted incident and said they are not looking for any other suspects.

A 31-year-old man and a 32-year-old man — both from Hamilton — face a slew of charges, including assault with a weapon.
