Trio charged with first-degree murder in fatal Barrie shooting

An 18-year-old man and two teens have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Barrie on Friday.

Barrie Police were called to a residence on River Ridge Rd., near Hurst Dr. and Golden Meadow Rd., at around 6 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a teenager with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Sunday, Barrie cops said the trio was arrested without incident on the weekend.

An 18-year-old male was arrested Saturday, while the 17-year-old males were arrested Sunday.

The 18-year-old appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday Court on Sunday and was remanded into custody, while the 17-year-olds are in custody awaiting a bail hearing on Monday.

Police said there are no other suspects outstanding and the shooting was an isolated incident.
