According to a news release from OLG, Pilgrim-Stark is a retired nurse who regularly plays the lottery. Discovering her win became a bit of a teary moment, not too surprisingly.

“I was about to replay my ticket when I heard the winning jingle go off. I asked the clerk how much and she whispered, ‘A lot of money,’” Pilgrim-Stark said.

“After I found out I won $1 million, I stood in the corner of the store with tears in my eyes in disbelief.”

Pilgrim-Stark shared how she intends to spend some of her windfalls. She’ll pay off her mortgage, share some money with her children and invest in her future. She has travel plans.

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

“I have a few places on my bucket list to travel, so I’ll put some aside for that,” she said.

The woman bought her winning ticket   at Real Canadian Superstore on Eagleson Road in Kanata.

“I feel like I’m floating on Cloud 9. It’s been a journey of disbelief and elation,” Pilgrim-Stark said.
