Toronto cops seek suspect in east-end sex assault, robbery

Police are hoping to identify and locate a suspect after an alleged sexual assault and robbery in Toronto’s east end.

Toronto Police were called to the area of Simpson Ave. and Broadview Ave. on Tuesday. They say a woman was walking westbound on Simpson Ave. east of Broadview Ave. when a man walked past her and then attacked her from behind. Police allege the man sexually assaulted the woman, robbed her and fled.

The suspect is described as about 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-5 with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a hat, large glasses, a face mask and dark clothing.

Investigators are asking residents to review their security cameras and dash cams for any footage that might have been captured between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to assist with the investigation.
