Woman, 40, arrested for Oshawa grandmother’s slaying

The victim, 67, was found by her grandson who reportedly told a neighbour there was “blood everywhere”

A 40-year-old woman is now accused of killing an Oshawa senior who was found slain by her young grandson Friday afternoon.

Durham Regional Police say the boy discovered his grandmother’s lifeless body when he arrived home on Phillip Murray Ave. – near Cedar St. — around 3:30 p.m.

The boy reportedly ran to a neighbour’s house saying his grandmother was on the floor and there was “blood everywhere.”

The victim has been identified as 67-year-old Ruth Humphries.

Police revealed Saturday that an arrest has been made in Durham’s sixth homicide of the year.

    ‘BLOOD EVERYWHERE’: Death of Oshawa woman, 67 — found by grandson — deemed ‘suspicious’

Ludmila Auclair, of Oshawa, was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree murder.

“This is an isolated incident and investigators are not looking for any other suspects in this investigation,” Sgt. George Tudaos said in a statement released Saturday.

The accused and victim were reportedly known to one another but were not related.
