Just after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, emergency crews were called to a vacant area of a building near Adelaide St. W. and John St. for reports of a shooting.

Toronto Police say the victim, a man in his 30s, was found inside.

His condition was critical when rushed to hospital by paramedics, but has since stabilized in hospital.

Police believe the vacant space was the venue of a large party at the time of the shooting, hosting somewhere between 200 to 300 attendees — all of whom fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.

Anybody who witnessed the shooting or the events leading up to it is asked to call police or leave an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers.
