Who is woke?

The Homerton College’s digital archive at Cambridge University, that’s who.

The esteemed institution, which is in the process of uploading text to its digital library, is adding “trigger warnings,” for classic children’s books that have “harmful content relating to slavery, colonialism and racism,” according to the Daily Mail .

More than 10,000 books and magazines are being looked at to point out authors who have been “offensive to historically enslaved, colonized or denigrated people.”

The online versions whose words, phrases and images are considered harmful will be flagged with trigger warnings placed at the beginning of each text.

Among the offending writers are Laura Ingalls Wilder, whose Little House On The Prairie is being singled out for “stereotypical depictions of Native Americans.”

Others include Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel, author of the Dr. Seuss books, for “overt blackface” and cultural insensitivities, and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz author L Frank Baum, called out for “white supremacy” in his Bandit Jim Crow , written under the pen name of Laura Bancroft.

The move comes after anti-racist groups demanded censoring racial slurs when teachers were reading Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird out loud.

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

Footing the bill for the $137,456.28 CAN project is the taxpayer-funded UK Arts and Humanities Research Council.

However, critics say trigger warnings could lead to censorship.

“The whole point of much of children’s literature is to introduce them to alternative worlds,” Chris McGovern, of the Campaign for Real Education, told the Daily Mail .

“Fairy tales, for example, are saturated with scary characters and that is partly the point of them. Only woke-afflicted adults have such silly notions as trigger warnings.’
