An Oshawa woman who won $1 million in the MAXMILLIONS lottery has plans to open a foster home.
“My dream is to open a foster home. I don’t think any child should be left behind. I’ll give them a place they can come to,” Shawnette Rowe, 50, said after her win on September 14.
The social worker was heading to work when she checked her ticket at a store
“I was so excited! I was hugging everyone thinking I won $100,000,” Rowe said, adding it was all surreal.
“When I realized I won $1 million I started screaming! I was overwhelmed because I had to go into work. My job is very important,”
“I couldn’t believe it. I kept thinking to myself, ‘Oh my God is this real.’”
She also plans to share her winnings with family.
