Girl seriously hurt after being struck by car in Brampton

Police in Peel Region are investigating after a young girl was struck by a car in Brampton.

The victim was hit just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Thorndale Rd. and Rouge St., in the area of Castlemore and The Gore Rd. in the extreme eastern portion of the city.

“She was transported to a trauma centre, and we’re waiting for results of her assessment,” Peel Regional Police Const. Heather Cannon told the Sun. 

“Her parents have been notified.”

The driver remained on scene, and roads in the area will be closed for investigation.

Cannon said the victim was a girl under the age of 16.

This comes one day after a 17-year-old girl was struck and killed while crossing an intersection in Scarborough.
