BRAUN: Thomas Markle needs to stop talking

It’s a unique threat, do admit: Meghan Markle’s father says he’ll speak to the media at least once a month until she mends their feud and speaks to him.

That creative bit of fist-shaking was courtesy Thomas Markle, 77, during his recent appearance on Good Morning Britain , in the course of which he denounced his daughter and his son-in-law — again — and unwittingly made it obvious — again — why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might be unwilling to entertain him.

Even those with a five-star, iron-clad, Olympic-level disinterest in Meghan Markle can appreciate why she might be too busy sorting her sock drawer to deal with her outrageous family.

In his latest interview, Markle accused his daughter of disowning both sides of her family and said that she needs to grow up.

The Daily Mail reports he also accused Prince Harry of doing nothing but riding his bike all over Montecito.

Markle’s coup de grace was his accusation that the duke and duchess care only for money, declaring, “Everything they’re doing is for money,” as if to confirm that not one member of that family seems to grasp the concept of projection.

Markle said that he and Meghan both needed to “grow up, talk, make up,” and mend their relationship.

“This is more than just me and my daughter now — this is me, my daughter, her husband and two babies,” he said on the show.

“So it’s time to do something. To talk.”

Markle accused his daughter of changing after her relationship with Harry began. And just as he accused her of disowning both sides of the family, he accused Harry of abandoning the Queen, the Royal Family, the British people and the army.

He also suggested that Harry’s upcoming book will be cruel and insulting to his grandmother, the Queen.

Perhaps worst of all was Markle’s veiled threat about getting to see his grandchildren, Archie and Lillibet.

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

“I’m very concerned about that, I’d love to see my grandchildren. People have suggested in California that I sue to see my kids, but I think if I did that I’d be a hypocrite, I’d be doing the same thing that Meghan and Harry are doing,” he said.

“I’ve been told by several lawyers that grandparents have sued to see their grandchildren and won in California, but I’m not going to do that.

“I don’t want to involve my grandchildren as pawns in a game — they’re not part of the game, I mean they’re my grandchildren, I want to see my grandchildren.”

Not surprisingly, the British public responded at once to this tripe, lighting up social media in their fury at ITV and Good Morning Britain for airing the interview.

Good Morning Britain has Thomas Markle on again, which says a great deal about both of them, and none of it good,” is one typical twitter response.

“You would have thought that the response to Piers bashing her was enough, apparently not, Good Morning Britain, tabloid gutter shite telly at its worst,” is another .
