On Thursday, police received a call from a family member of Ava Burton, 58, and her mother Tatilda Noble, 85, asking for an officer to check on their wellness at their home on Sceptor Pl. — near Dryden Blvd. and Garrard Rd.

At the house, police found evidence that led them to deem the disappearance of the women as suspicious.

“I can’t get into the details, but we are treating this a suspicious,” acting Sgt. George Tudos said Friday. “The (house) has been secured and the investigation is ongoing.”

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

Noble is a black with a light complexion, five-foot, with grey hair that is usually worn in a wrap, and brown eyes. She wears prescription glasses and talks with a Jamaican accent.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the women is urged to call police at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 5411, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
