Man dead in overnight shooting in Brampton

Peel police are investigating after gunfire claimed the life of a man in Brampton early Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were dispatched to a plaza at the intersection of Peter Robertson Blvd. and Dixie Rd. Just before 1 a.m. after shots rang out.

There, officers found a male suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was rushed to Sunnybrook hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the shooter fled the scene in a red vehicle.

No shooter description was provided.
