Todd the red fox has fled the coop — at the Toronto Zoo.

“In mid-September, Todd, a young rehabilitated red fox, found a weakness in the perimeter of his habitat and left to explore the Canadian Domain,” the Zoo wrote on its Facebook page.

“Despite extensive searches of the area, he has not yet been found.”Todd, a fox that seemingly lost its fear of humans, was found in Milton in late 2020.

The Toronto Wildlife Centre took him in, believing the animal to have been hand-raised.

He wasn’t considered a good candidate for release and was given to the Zoo in June.

On Sept. 12 he apparently dug his way out of his enclosure and has been AWOL ever since.

Anyone who thinks they have seen Todd are asked to contact the Zoo at ToddTheFox@torontozoo.ca.

Red foxes are a native species in Ontario.
