Man sought for sexually assaulting woman boarding TTC streetcar

The hunt is on for a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault that occurred downtown last month.

Toronto Police say a woman was boarding a street car in the area of Yonge St. and Dundas St. W. around noon on Sept. 1 when she was approached from behind by a man who sexually assaulted her before fleeing the area on foot.

The unidentified man is described as 35 and 45 years old, with a medium build and thinning hair.

He was wearing sunglasses, a white and grey camouflaged sweater, black jogging pants, white running shoes, and had a red backpack.

Investigators have released an image of a suspect in the hopes the public can help identify him.

Police are concerned about the possibility of other victims.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is urged to call police at 416-808-5200 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
