19-year-old charged in Brampton crash that killed elderly pedestrian

A 19-year-old man faces multiple charges connected to a collision that resulted in the death of a 71-year-old Brampton man over the summer.

On Aug. 31 at about 7:55 p.m., Peel Regional Police say two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Countryside Dr. and Moutainash Rd. in Brampton.

A pedestrian was standing on the southeast corner of Countryside at the time and cops say the impact of the crash caused one of the vehicles to mount the curb and strike the victim, who was transported to a trauma centre with critical injuries.

The man recently died from those injuries.

On Sept. 24, investigators with the Major Collision Bureau charged the 19-year-old from Brampton with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and dangerous operation causing death. His name was not relelased.
