Body found near Toronto Zoo; homicide unit investigating

Toronto police’s homicide unit is investigating after a body was found near the Toronto Zoo early Monday morning.

Police and fire crews were called to the Reesor Road and Old Finch Avenue area at around 12:12 a.m. for reports of a grass fire.

Police said after the fire was put out by fire crews, a body was found in the area.

Investigators describe the victim as five-foot-eight inches to five-foot-ten-inches tall and with an average build. He’s approximately 25 to 35 years-old, has a light brown complexion, short dark hair, short dark facial hair, and a plain gold band on his left ring finger. He was wearing a pair of black Air Jordan shoes with red soles.

This is considered a suspicious death, police said.
