14-year-old boy dead in East Gwillimbury crash: Cops

Police in York Region say a 14-year-old cyclist is dead following a collision with a vehicle in East Gwillimbury on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to a collision between a cyclist and an SUV in the area of Doane Rd. and Centre St. at about 2:41 p.m.

York Regional Police say the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is unknown and police say the driver of the SUV remained at the scene.
