CRIME SCENE: Cops nab alleged serial sex predator

A 29-year-old Toronto man has been charged in connection with a slew of alleged sexual assaults.

Police say that on Saturday, around 11 a.m., officers responded to calls for sexual assaults at Yorkgate Mall.

The man allegedly approached a number of women and proceeded to sexually assault them.

Toronto Police publicly appealed for help and later Sunday said Alaa Ali Jerjazi was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault.

Detectives fear there may be other victims.

A 50-year-old motorcyclist is dead after the bike he was riding crashed into a FedEx delivery van on Saturday. Cops say the incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of  Lawrence Ave. W. and Weston Rd.

According to cops, the northbound FedEx van was making a left turn at the intersection when it collided with the southbound motorcycle. The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. So far it isn’t known what caused the crash or who was at fault. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.


The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating an incident in Brampton between Peel Police and a 26-year-old man Friday night. The man was seriously injured during the encounter that took place around 11 p.m. when he was arrested on Kingknoll Dr. “There was a police interaction,” SIU said in a news release. “The man was taken to the police station, followed by the hospital.”

The SIU investigates any death or serious injury involving police in Ontario. No further details were released. Anyone with information is asked to call the SIU at 1-800-787-8529.

Hamilton Police are investigating a hit and run crash that killed a 76-year-old man in the Flamborough area.

Cops say that on Friday around 8 p.m., the man was walking southbound on the shoulder of Centre Rd. when he was struck by a northbound motor vehicle. The driver of the motor vehicle then fled the scene. The victim died shortly after at Hamilton General Hospital. The suspect vehicle is described as a white Nissan SUV. The vehicle will have damage to the front end.

Witnesses who have not spoken to police are asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4753 or 905-546-4755 or call Crime Stoppers at  1-800-222-8477.
