Things are getting pretty weird in the United States as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on.

The latest example: A 61-year-old man on a recent flight was “aggressively growling at his fellow passengers” and randomly shouting out “Joe Biden,” according to CNN correspondent Omar Jimenez.

Jimenez tweeted that the incident happened on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City this week and that the man also allegedly argued with the flight crew while taking his mask on and off.

As an explanation, Jimenez tweeted: “Only one thing immediately came to mind. People are unwell.”

Jimenez said police arrested a suspect, identified as Timothy Armstrong, when the plane landed. The man was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Jimenez said in 2021 “there have been 750+ (FAA) investigations (into unruly passengers, with) 4,000+ incidents reported ranging from attacking flight attendants, to fights, and now … growling. About 3/4 of the incidents are mask-related.”
