Video shows the elderly woman was walking next to an alley when the truck reversed “unsafely,” knocked her down, and continued to back up over her.

The driver exited to see what she hit, saw the victim lying on the roadway, and stood there for “approximately three minutes,” police said in a statement.

The driver then jumped back into the truck and drove off, leaving the woman for dead.

The L.A. Fire Department responded and the senior was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Family members identified her as Soon Kim, a great-grandmother who immigrated to the U.S. from South Korea three decades ago, reported KTLA.

“Our grandmother lived a very full life, a very happy woman. Lived for her family, her grandkids,” her grandson, Rich Henderson, told KABC.

“To die in such a horrific way – we were expecting the call at 91 years old that she had died peacefully in her sleep. To get that call (instead) is truly heartbreaking.”

Kim’s granddaughter, Susan Cho, described her as “fiercely independent.” Cho told KTLA, “She lived by herself with no complaint. She enjoyed her independence.”

LAPD are offering a reward of up to $50,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to the driver’s identification, arrest and conviction.

“We understand that the woman that struck her is someone known in the neighbourhood,” said Cho. “People recognized the car and that she had sort of a regular routine of putting up mattresses and other things in the area … It gives us some hope that she may be found.”
