A one-year-old child was fatally struck by a vehicle in the driveway of a Brampton home early Monday, Peel Regional Police say.
The incident happened on Royal Salisbury Way, in the Williams Parkway and Highway 410 area, shortly after midnight.
The tot was rushed to hospital but died a short time later.
Police are investigating but CBC reports that Const. Sarah Patten said no charges are expected to be laid.
A report from 680 News said the vehicle was believed to have been driven by a family member of the girl.
Police say the incident appears to be “just a really traumatic accident.”
The circumstances leading up to the tragedy were not immediately clear.
