Youth, 17, arrested in Hamilton Mountain stabbing of teen boy

A 17-year-old Hamilton boy is in stable condition after he was stabbed Tuesday afternoon.

Cops say that just after 3 p.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the area of Acadia Dr. at Billy Sherring Park in Hamilton.

Officers located a male suffering from injuries believed to have been caused by an edged weapon. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives have arrested another 17-year-old boy in connection with the incident.

The Hamilton resident — who cannot be named — is charged with assault causing bodily harm and two counts of assault with a weapon. He is slated to appear in court on Aug. 27.

The victim remains at hospital with non-threatening injuries.
