Police in Hamilton say a 17-year-old is in hospital after an alleged targeted stabbing at a park in that city on Tuesday afternoon.
Hamilton Regional Police say they responded to a report of a stabbing in the Hamilton Mountain area of the city, where a male was found with injuries believed to have been caused by an edged weapon.
The male was transported to hospital with serious injuries. His condition has since been upgraded to stable.
“The incident is currently being investigated by the Mountain Division Criminal Investigations Branch. With the information available at this time, police believe the incident was targeted,” Hamilton police said in a news release.
There were no immediate suspect descriptions. The suspect or suspects fled on foot, according to police.
