HUNTER: Canadian socialite barred from seeing kids; says rich hubby will ‘rot in hell’

Influential inlaws have moved rapidly to sever ties

Jasmine Hartin had it all.

Money, status, a handsome husband who was loaded, and two beautiful children.

But May 28, in a split second on a dock in Belize, that life was obliterated.

That’s when local cops say she fired a bullet into the neck of her friend, Police Superintendent Henry Jemmott, who died instantly and fell into the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.

The two friends had been drinking on the dock.

A blood-covered Hartin was arrested at the scene and charged with negligent manslaughter, stirring up a hornet’s nest around the globe.

She is now out on bail but according to 7 News Belize, Hartin was prevented from seeing her two young children.

Hartin — originally from Sydenham in eastern Ontario — had been the common-law wife of Andrew Ashcroft, the son of billionaire power-broker Lord Michael Ashcroft.

Sources have told The Toronto Sun that ever since the incident occurred, the loaded and influential Ashcrofts have moved rapidly to sever their ties with the pretty blond Canadian.

On Tuesday, Hartin released videos of her chasing down the father of her children demanding to see the twins, Charlie and Elle.

She was desperately trying to get into the family’s Alaia resort.

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

But security blocked her.

“This is wrong and I don’t know why he is doing this other than to clear his own name and distance himself…,” she texted 7 News Belize.

On the video she provided the media outlet, Hartin is stunned that the staff who know her won’t let her see her children.

She tells them: “Wow! So you’ve been instructed by Andrew to stop me from seeing my children, that’s correct? I won’t, I don’t even want. I won’t do that to my kids, that’s how much I love them, I don’t want them to see that.”

Accompanying the distressed socialite is a woman believed to be her mother.

“He’s gonna rot in hell for this!, like I’m not going through enough! Like I’m not going through enough!” Hartin is heard yelling.

Her mom chimes in: “He lied to my family in Canada. He lied and I’m here representing my family in Canada …. he’s a f—ing liar.”

And then Hartin and her mom walk into the kitchen where she finally confronts her longtime partner, Andrew Ashcroft.

“Why are you stopping me from being at my house and seeing my kids Andrew? You don’t want to be on camera? Why are you keeping my children from me Andrew? You lied to my whole family. Let me see my children.”

Andrew replies: “Stop, stop.”

And then he scampers off in fear.

What seems clear is that Jasmine Hartin probably shouldn’t expect any comfort or help from the billionaire Ashcrofts.

In fact, they may do everything possible to get her booted from the country — and away from her kids.

This is how the rich operate. She has outlived her usefulness.

Hartin herself told cops Jemmott was a close friend and that the shooting was an accident.

If investigators didn’t believe her, she would be facing a murder charge when she appears in court again on Aug. 12.

In the interim, Hartin is persona non grata and a woman scorned in the tropical paradise.

As for her common-law husband — as flacks for the Ashcrofts are at pains to explain — he reminds me of one of the rich boys on the Titanic, dressing up as a scullery maid.

None of that women and children first nonsense for this chivalrous toff.
