Hamilton detectives are hoping that new images released to the public and media will lead them to the killers of a 38-year-old city man.

David Anderson was shot to death on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, just before 10:30 p.m., in the alleyway just behind his residence.

The recent images are of two of the four male suspects believed to be involved in this investigation.

These images were captured just prior to the shooting.

From the beginning, investigators believe that Anderson was murdered as a result of a dope rip-off gone awry.

Anderson lived with his elderly mother in their Birch Ave. home and police said his killers were looking for marijuana and cash. Inside the home there was evidence that it had been thoroughly searched.

At the time of the heist, Anderson was alone.

Witnesses told cops they heard yelling in the alleyway and then at least one gunshot.

Det. Sgt. Steve Bereziuk told The Hamilton Spectator he believes the suspects planned to rob Anderson — but not kill him.

However, something the suspects or Anderson did escalated the situation.

Seconds after the shooting, the four male suspects were captured on video fleeing the alleyway before crossing Sherman Ave. heading east.
