Five suspects nabbed in church break-in

Toronto Police say five people are in custody following a break-in at a church in the area of McCowan Rd. and Anson Ave. on Wednesday night.

Police received reports of three to four people breaking into a church, as well as additional reports that smoke was coming from the building and individuals might have been setting something on fire. Officers on scene said heavy smoke was coming from inside the building.

Police say the suspects fled on foot and officers caught the suspects in a foot pursuit. One outstanding suspect was nabbed with the help of the K9 unit.
