Toronto Police made a second arrest following a horrific shooting at a one-year-old’s outdoor birthday party at a Rexdale townhouse complex on Saturday night.
A man and three children were injured when shots were fired at the front-yard party for a one-year-old on Tandridge Cr. in the Albion Rd.-Islington Ave. area. A five-year-old girl was critically injured and is in hospital with a head wound.
An 11-year-old who was shot in the buttocks and a 23-year-old — shot in the leg — were also taken to hospital.
A bullet grazed the one-year-old whose birthday was being celebrated. The infant was treated at the scene.
Police said Tuesday that they charged Kevin George, 21, of Toronto, with four counts of aggravated assault, weapons offences, and failing to comply with recognition.
Earlier, police charged Demar Cadogan, 24, of Toronto, with discharging a firearm with intent and three other firearm offences.
Police are looking for others who fired shots that day, said acting police chief James Ramer.
“We will be arresting all of you,” Ramer insisted, adding any shooting is traumatic, but at a child’s party is “despicable.”
“Men exchanging gunfire at a child’s birthday party is absolutely absurd. It makes me very angry.”
