You would think gun-loving Florida GOP candidate Anna Paulina Luna would be the last person to fear assassination.
But this is Florida, and Luna — pals with scandal-plagued Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz — is claiming political opponents want to take her off the board.
Luna claims primary opponent William Braddock, 2020 primary rival Amanda Makki and possible rival Matt Tito are working together to kill her.
“I received information yesterday (at midnight) regarding a plan (with a timeline) to murder me made by William Braddock in an effort to prevent me from winning the election for FL-13,” Luna wrote in the petition, the Tampa Bay Times quoted.
The trio, Luna claims, want to “take her out.”
The political gadfly lost big in 2020 to former Florida governor Democratic Rep. Charlie Crist.
Now, she’s filed a stalking injunction against Braddock.
Braddock just shrugged at the accusation and said he doesn’t even have Luna’s phone number and only interacted with her once.
“This woman is off her rocker and she does not need to be representing anyone,” Braddock told the Times, adding he would be making no further public statements.
“I don’t really have any plans to prepare because I didn’t do anything wrong,” he said. “It is a false police report and she’s probably going to jail for filing a false police report.”
Both Makki and Tito also denied being involved in an assassination plot.
Makki said: “I mean, I really think that she’s exhibiting behaviour that I would say is concerning. She can’t debate you on the policy issues. She plays the victim better than anybody I’ve ever seen.”
