Assault probe leads to drug bust in Toronto

An assault investigation ended with a 28-year-old man being arrested on drug charges Tuesday.

Toronto Police say responding officers allegedly learned of a large quantity of narcotics in a vehicle and a search warrant was executed.

The search allegedly led to the discovery of a “hidden trap compartment” in the trunk of the vehicle

Police allegedly seized 5 kilograms of fentanyl, 1 kilogram of cocaine, 700 grams of crystal meth, a loaded .40 calibre Glock 22 handgun with an extended magazine and $40,000 in cash.

Faiaz Ahmed, of Mississauga, faces 23 charges that include drug and gun offences and forcible confinement.
