Ajax house fire now under police investigation

Police say two men wearing balaclavas were spotted fleeing the home as the flames spread

Police are treating a house fire in Ajax on Tuesday as suspicious.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., members from first responders were called responded to an active house fire at a home on Beachview St., in the Rossland Rd., E. and Wilson Rd. N. area

Ajax Fire Services say the house was fully engulfed with flames when crews arrived.

The home was under construction and not occupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

Police say two suspects wearing balaclavas were seen exiting the home and fled east towards a nearby wooded area.

The  Ontario Fire Marshall is investigating.
